Malawi Defense Force boxer Ruth Chisale has finally secured a World Boxing Council silver lightweight title fight against Firuza Sharipova on June 5 in Kazakhstan.
This bout comes six years after Chisale lost a WBC Silver title elimination fight to Zambian Lolita Muzeya.
Chisale, who is part of the Malawi Defense Force, says she is looking forward to the fight to claim her first WBC belt, when she faces tough fighter Firuza Sharipova of Kazakhstan.
“Memories of how I lost controversially in 2017 are still fresh. It was just an elimination fight, but my focus was on winning to secure a WBC fight. Now another opportunity has opened up. Therefore, I will do everything possible to win the belt.” Chisale, 25, has 12 wins, including seven knockouts and two losses, while Sharipova, 28, has 15 wins and two losses.
