
In an exciting night at Dublin’s 3Arena, Britain’s Charlie Edwards was crowned the new WBC International super flyweight champion after defeating Mexico’s Salvador “Peloncito” Juárez.
The 10-round fight saw Edwards take control from the opening bell, showcasing his precision and technique to dictate the pace. Juárez attempted to respond but was unable to find a solution to counter the Brit’s dominance.
Judges Francisco Alloza, Padraig O’Reachtagain, and Robert Verwijs turned in scorecards of 94-94, 99-91, and 99-91, confirming Edwards’ superiority.
With this win, he adds another achievement to his career and strengthens his position in the super flyweight division.
