Super welterweight World champion Brian Castaño held an open training session for the media in Los Angeles, California, prior to the important unification rematch against fellow world champion Jermell Charlo.
It`ll be on Saturday, May 14, at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California. Fans are eager to see chapter two, because their first encounter, was one of the most thrilling fights of last year.
The second edition of Charlo vs. Castaño, will take place nine months after they met over 12 disputed rounds in July 2021, resulting in a split draw.
This is what Castaño commented at the end of titanic training session at the Knockouts Boxing Gym:
“I am very happy to fight in front of Latino fans in Southern California. My message to the fans is that I am going to leave it all in the ring. We are going to lift all four belts on fight night.”
I think I won the first fight. This time, we are going to try everything to make sure we don’t leave the fight in the hands of the judges.
“I was training with one hand for a few weeks after the arm injury. But right now, I really feel better and stronger than ever.
We had a lot to learn from the first fight with Charlo. One of the biggest things I’ve learned is to be more cautious at times while I’m in the ring. He is powerful, but I will also bring my power. We learned from the first fight, and we are going to correct the mistakes we made.”
Tickets for the live event, promoted by TGB Promotions and Lions Only Promotions, are on sale now and can be purchased through AXS.com.
The card is organized by Premier Boxing Champions and will be broadcasted on Showtime.
