Caring Canelo is “The cat`s whiskers”

World Boxing Council middleweight champion Saul “El Canelo” Alvarez, middleweight experienced a close shave to help in the fight against cancer.

After collecting one million 250 thousand pesos that will be used for the construction of the Red Nose lodge, the fighter  kept his part of the bargin,   by shaving off his distinctive ginger beard.

This was his: “Let`s face it,” heartfelt response to the challenge of young Alexa, a 4-year-old girl who participates in the Invencibles 5 Campaign, seeking  to build a young persons` shelter by raising funds through the Fondify platform.

A clean shaven, one again baby faced Canelo, minus the stubble, smoothly declared:   “It’s a blessing for me to be able to help in these causes,  to support children who really need it”

During the shave  Alvarez had a friendly brush with  little Alexa, whom he thanked for considerately inviting him.

The boxer revealed that it was actually his 11-year-old daughter who saw Alexa’s video and informed him of the challenge.

“She said ‘Dad, they’re challenging you’ and she sent me the video and I said: Investigate what we have to do and the info, and I will do it!  And it made me feel very good and  very happy to be able help.”

“Canelo” also said he`s thrilled, because with the money raised, a soup kitchen will be built for children and women with cancer.
