Mexico’s Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez fights WBA super middleweight champion Callum Smith for the vacant WBC 168-pound title this Saturday at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.
Both fighters passed the official weigh-in this afternoon, recording both Canelo and Smith an exact 168 pounds.
Canelo Álvarez (53-1-2, 36 KOs) will be back in action for the first time since he knocked out Sergey Kovalev in November 2019 in Las Vegas in one of last year’s best bouts.
Callum Smith (27-0, 19 KOs) has landed the big fight he longed for, and the lofty Brit will try to solidify his position as the best fighter at 168 pounds. Nicknamed ‘World’, Smith became champion of the prestigious World Boxing Super Series tournament.
