‘Canelo’ Álvarez is the image of a “Loteria Nacional” in Mexico

Last Saturday at the Arena of the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez notched an historic night for world of boxing, by knocking out American Caleb Plant in round 11, to become the first super middleweight unify champion.

The prestige of Saúl Álvarez is gloriously consolidated as one of the most influential athletes in the history of Mexico, so he will now be the image for the draw of the National Lottery of Mexico next Tuesday, November 16, the date that will coincide with our 59th annual Convention and that will take place in Mexico City from November 14 to 19.

The National Lottery has had a long and close relationship with boxing for many years.
In June 2014, the Lottery paid a posthumous tribute to the WBC President for Life, José Sulaimán Chagnón, who was recognized as the promoter of the sport and the greatest leader in the history of world boxing. The face of José Sulaimán appeared on the tickets with the legend “He did it his way”, and the draw, was a total success.

In other broadcasts, there were also recognitions for some of our greatest world champions and boxers including: Raúl “Ratón” Macías, Julio César Chávez, Cleto Reyes, Luis Villanueva “Kid Azteca”, Ricardo “Finito” López, José “Huitlacoche ”Medel, Vicente Saldívar, José Becerra, plus anniversaries of the World Boxing Council, among others.

Continuing with what is becoming something that makes us very proud, Canelo will be part of this list of great personalities to be honored by the National Lottery.
