Beyond being a spectacle, boxing has become an alternative way of life for many people, offering not only a method to stay in shape, but also a way to overcome personal and social challenges.
The sport demands a balance between body and mind, but in boxing, where every movement counts and every decision can change the course of a fight, dedication, passion, the will to fight to the end and so much more are essential.
In vulnerable neighborhoods and communities, where opportunities are often limited, scarce or unfavorable, boxing has played a way for many to include the sport and in many cases to do it professionally.
International boxers such as Mike Tyson, who has long been considered the most feared man on the planet, found in boxing an alternative way of life that with effort and dedication would make him one of the greatest boxing legends. Superstars Manny Pacquiao, Humberto “La Chiquita” Gonzáles” Jose Antonio “Jaguar Aguirre” also saw in this sport a way of overcoming and a personal struggle. Not forgetting the new generations of boxers who undoubtedly came to boxing for a reason.
There are many young people who are in this sport to avoid drugs and other risks, channeling their energy into this spectacular sport that, despite all its complexities, is a powerful tool for positive change.
