“Bookworm” inspires students

Former world champion Tomas Rojas met with high school students in Veracruz to offer a memorable motivational speech.

 The skillful, knowledgeable and worldly wise southpaw heads the card facing Mexican puncher Jairo  ‘Doberman’ López. The bone of contention is the super featherweight FECARBOX title.

Rojas Gómez, spoke of the importance of never putting  aside or discarding dreams and setting very high goals… impossible as they may seem:  “I come from a very humble neighborhood in Veracruz, and never fell into vices or bad company. 

“I would also like to tell you about bullying, which is a problem that increasingly affects society. There have been children who committed suicide because of the mistreatment they suffer and do not dare to denounce.  I invite you all to avoid this practice and struggle against the ones who affect others”
