On March 30 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Serhii Bohachuk (23-1, 23 KOs) and Sebastian Fundora (20-1-1, 13 KOs) will meet for the vacant World Boxing Council super welterweight title .
Bohachuk is the WBC’s No. 2 qualifier, while Fundora is No. 3.
Bohachuk, 28, had a great campaign in 2023 defeating tough contenders Patrick Allotey in one round and Nathaniel Gallimore in six rounds.
“El Flaco”’s five-fight winning streak since suffering the first loss of his career to Brandon Adams in 2021 helped him prepare for the fight with Fundora. Bohachuk spent most of 2022 in Ukraine with his family while his home country fought the ongoing war with Russia.
The 6-foot-6 Fundora will have a six-inch height advantage and a 10-inch reach advantage in the fight.
Fundora, 26, has not fought since he suffered the first loss of his career last April. Fundora was surprisingly knocked out by Brian Mendoza in the seventh round of a fight he was winning handily.
Bohachuk is doing great preparation for this fight, although both fighters already know each other because they have had many sparring sessions together in the past, Sergey knows how dangerous his rival is and is having a great training camp.
