
Two-times world champion David Benavidez faces the dangerous veteran Ronald Ellis in an elimination bout for the super middleweight title of the World Boxing Council, next Saturday, March 13, live on SHOWTIME at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, in a Premier Boxing Champions event.
David Benavidez (23-0, 20 KOs) returns to the ring after a knockout win over Alexis Angulo at Mohegan Sun’s “Fight Sphere” last August.
Benavidez turned pro at age 16 and captured his first world title at age 20, becoming the youngest 168-pound world champion in history. The two-time undefeated super middleweight champion, seeks to regain the WBC title he lost on the scale last year.
David shared his 7-day pre-weighing in at 172.8 pounds, showing that he is right on target for this important fight.
