WBC Anti Bullying Ambassador Beka Romero talked with and listened to three hundred and fifty children at the Reynosa Municipal Institute of Sports. about a blight which affects us all.
Approximately six out of ten children have suffered and been affected by bullying.
Children in the audience talked about sadness, fear and frustration. Beka explained there are four types of bullying. Physical, verbal, gestures and cyber.
Beka urged children not to suffer in silence. To advise teachers and society. To break the vicious cycle. There are victims of bullying and witness to the aggressors.
Important to block and report cyber bullying and not to respond in any way and not to seek vengeance.
Better to confide in parents and teachers. To be constant and consistent punctuating the cycle of bullies, victims and witnesses.
The consequences for bullies can include schools suspension. Expulsion and legal action. For the victims there is constant fear, depression even leading to suicide.
Teachers can, must and do help. Immediate interaction is required. Mike Tyson. Canelo and Cristian Mijjares all suffered bullying bit didn’t give in to it.
Cristian was targeted because he was slim and small. He went to the gym and was inspired. He became a southpaw sensation.
A tremendous interaction between Cristian, Beka and the young audience. He told them the key is to control fear. A test and testament of life.
Practice sports. A channel for energy, discipline and dedication. Jose Luis Castillo also supported this compressive and united stance.
Then role playing with a group of five boys and the same number of girls, teaching the stance and the dance. jabs and combinations with the great and the patient Jose Luis. “One, to thee!!” For defending yourself and standing up for yourself is important.
A memorable class in its own right.
Who went through their self defence paces better? The girls or the boys?
Of course it was a draw!
