WBC female bantamweight champion, Mariana “Barby” Juárez, wants to jump up one division and fight its champion Fatuma Zarika from Kenya.
Mariana (53-9-4, 18 KO`s) attended to the WBC weekly press conference, stating that after making another defense of her crown on October, she`s going after Fatuma (32-9-4. 17 KO`s).
Mariana who`s been a pro boxer for twenty one years and has won WBC world titles in two divisions is convinced that she has what it takes to defeat Fatuma and triumph with the triple. She boldly predicts that will happen in 2020. But before this, she`ll defend her belt against an Argentine rival at a venue to be determined.
“I have never once underestimate a rival. I`m the champion and I have demonstrated in each of my performances not only my experience but also a boxing growth. However, I am not overconfident as all the rivals are dangerous, so I always prepare one hundred percent.
I really want to write a great legacy in boxing and that is why I want to be champion in the super bantamweight division, I trust that God’s times are perfect and I know that my opportunity will come soon.”
