
Four rings of the bell mean a new chance at life for four women, four warriors who survived breast cancer.
With the presence of Christiane Manzur, president of WBC Cares Mexico; boxers Mariana Juárez and Matshidiso Mokebisi; Erika Ortiz and Alejandra Barrón from the COI Foundation (International Oncology Center), four patients experienced a significant and memorable moment in lives, ringing the bell that for them means that they have defeated this terrible illness.
Christiane Manzur reiterated her admiration for the heroines, who having fallen on the canvas: “like true warriors they got up and that is an example for us. Thank you for allowing us to be here with you today,” said she.
Mariana Juárez remembered her mother, who died from this condition, “I tell you that I admire you, my mother died and also my friend Victoria Polo, they were not detected in time and that is unfortunate; We have to check ourselves. You have defeated it and that is why you are an example and the true warriors.”
For the South African boxer Mokebisi it was a moment of inspiration: “First I want to thank you for allowing me to be here. I want to tell you that we are very strong and I want to ask you to continue in this fight.”
Erika Ortiz, director of the COI Foundation, thanked the WBC and WBC Cares for their steadfast, loyal support: “For the patients and for us as a foundation. It has been very important that the WBC has been with us for a long time, because they have helped us bring different inspirational moments to so many. women.”
The Foundation gave WBC Cares a tree of life, which was painted by patients, who are undergoing treatment and recovering from breast cancer.
