
In the epicentre of the TV Azteca studios in the south of Mexico City, the super bantamweight champion of the World Boxing Council, Yamileth Mercado, will face Mariana ‘Barby’ Juárez.
The fight, which is part of the campaign to raise awareness among women in the month of the fight against breast cancer, headlines a card presented by Zanfer Promotions in association with Promociones del Pueblo and 2m Promotions.
Mercado aged 24, will make the fourth defence of the 122-pound Green and Gold Belt, which she wrenched from Kenyan Fatuma Zarika in 2019.
Juárez aged 42, a former flyweight, super flyweight and bantamweight world champion, has 55 wins and more than 30 world title fights.
