
An historic COMEDEP agreement signed
During a breakfast at the Industrial Club with its President José Carral, an agreement was signed between various Strands of sport, professional organizations and COMEDEP combining principles and objectives with the WBC.
COMEDEP was created in 1986 by Don José Sulaimán with the intention of recognizing and rewarding the greatest heroes of sports throughout Mexico.
António Murrieta, who was one of the founders, says the spirit and essence of these organizations are distinguished by hard work and commitment.
WBC Mauricio Sulaimán, says it’s vital to return to the principles of this organization, as well as to establish sports as a social enabler, recognizing the great stars of the sport, because they are the inspiration for youngsters.
Committed to the new objectives, Mauricio Sulaimán, President of the WBC, Antonio Murrieta, founder of COMEDEP, Daniel Aceves, President of the Association of Mexican Olympians, Jorge Malo Lugo, President of the Charros Association, “El Fantasma”, President of Professional Wrestling in Mexico City, José Abed, President of the Automobile Association, Yon de Luisa, President of the Mexican Football Federation, Oscar Pérez, President of the Professional Football League, Omar Canizales, President of the Mexican League of Baseball of the Pacific, Alonso Izaguirre on behalf Mr. Sergio Ganem, Commissioner of the National League of Professional Basketball and Alberto Kaneda, Director of Kaneda Golf, signed the manifesto of Cooperation in a historical moment for sport.
Javier Salinas, president of the Mexican Baseball League and Rogelio Sanchez, president of the professional basketball circuit of the Pacific coast (CIBACOPA) also committed to join this initiative.
