After a very active and expectant weight ceremony, Luis “Chapo” Castro had to take some time after his first attempt, to lose more than one pound and finally reach the flyweight limit, 112 pounds, and then receive the authorization to dispute the WBC FECARBOX Flyweight championship.
“Chapo” Castro (18-4-2, 13 ko’s) will face the undefeated Ángel “Camaleón” Ayala (8-0-0, 4 ko’s), who weighed 110.6 pounds. It’s a duel in which the experience and power of Castro’s fists, will prove a tough test against the boxing, speed and precision of the “Chameleon.”
In the other main contest, over 10 rounds at Lightweight, Angel “Tashiro” Fierro (16-1-1, 12 ko’s) and Alexis “Baby” Reyes (17-5-1, 7 ko’s).
In another bout, Omar “Ranitas” Salcido (10-0-0, 7 ko’s) stakes his undefeated record against the experienced Roberto Almazán (9-13-0, 4 ko’s), who has fougjt five of his last six fights in the United States.
He has fought important rivals Adrián Estrella, Gary Russell, Martín Urías and George Acosta.
At 6 rounds at super middleweight, an explosive clash between Alexis Lara (3-0-0, 3 ko’s) and Luis Díaz (5-2-1, 5 ko’s).
The card will be done following the prevention and health protocols of the Hermosillo health authorities, the Sonora Boxing Commission and the World Boxing Council. The results of the official weigh-in are as follows:
