
World champions Juan Francisco “Gallo” Estrada and Miguel “Alacrán” Berchelt, have activated and combined their high altitude training camps in Jiquipilco, State of Mexico, for their coming title defenses.
The work team, led by the Hermosillo coach, Alfredo Caballero, will complete four weeks of preparation for a double session, as Estrada and Berchelt have important fights soon.
Details concluding the negotiations of their next fights remain to be announced.
WBC Super flyweight champion, Juan Francisco “Gallo” Estrada (40-3-0, 27 ko’s), could be defending his title for the second time (in his second stage as champion), during the month of October in a rematch match against ex champ, Sinaloan Carlos¨Principe¨ Cuadras (39-3-1, 27 kos).
WBC super featherweight world champion, Miguel “Alacrán” Berchelt (38-1-0, 34 ko’s), aims to make the seventh defense of his title, tentatively on November 7 against fellow Mexican and former featherweight world champion Oscar Valdez (28-0 , 22 kos).
The coach of both world champions, Alfredo Caballero, considered that opening camp at high altitudes will allow both boxers to reach their respective commitments in peak condition in terms of recovery and resistance factors.
