Akira Yaegashi KO`s Bunop in Tokyo
Former Japanese world champion Akira Yaegashi got a third straight victory by knocking out Thai Sahaphap Bunop in two rounds at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan.
Yaegashi, 36, who is looking for a new title shot at super flyweight, landed hard blows and controlled the distance in the first round. In the second, he knocked down the Thai with a powerful right hand, and twice more before the end of the fight at 2:25 minutes of the second episode.
Yaegashi points to challenge WBC champion Srisaket Sor Rungvisai (47-4-1, 41), whom he already defeated in 2009.
With this victory, Yaegashi improved his record to 28-6, with 16 knockouts.
