“A Hook to Overweight and Obesity” program promises svelte success

The life threatening issues of obesity and being overweight, need no second helping or just desserts, but rather they savor and respond to the “Main course help” of the World Boxing Council.

An impressive lineup of former World Champions, Humberto “Chiquita” González, Pipino Cuevas, Víctor Manuel Rabanales, Yessica “Leona” González, as well as Osvaldo “Chucky” Razón, who returns to the activity next Saturday, in Guadalajara.

They were accompanied by the authorities of the Health Sector of the State of Tlaxcala, María del Carmen Ramirez, Head of the Department of Health Promotion and Miguel Ángel Flores, Sub-Director of Affiliation and Operation of Seguro Popular in the state. It all concluded in the Zocalo of this city, the program is called: “A Hook to Overweight and Obesity” which had the endorsement of the WBC.

Accordingly, María del Carmen Ramírez, Head of the Department of Health Promotion of the State of Tlaxcala, invited everyone to digest this unpalatable realism, swallow hard, stomach the fact… and change their way of life, via boxing training.

Miguel Ángel Flores, Sub-Director of Affiliation and Operation of Popular Insurance, thanked the WBC and all those who were part of this three months program, crammed with enthusiasm.

He praised the work of all the colleagues of the Ministry of Health, for their dedication to inspire, motivate and activate people to change their habits of life and what better to be through boxing!

Former champion and all time great Humberto “Chiquita” González stressed the program must be maintained in Tlaxcala and developed in other outlying states

“I want kids to be in good health, besides motivating the youth of more states with boxing, because they will like it and this could produce one to several World Champions through precisely this type of program.”

With the germination of tis seed of inspiration, “A Hook to Overweight and Obesity” has concluded its activities in Tlaxcala, with an exhibition of amateur boxing by fighters from Tlaxcala, Puebla and the State of Mexico.
