A day like today, Rodolfo “Gato” Gonzalez defended his WBC lightweight title

With his title at stake, Mexican Rodolfo “Gato” Gonzalez, born in Guadalajara, Mexico and based in Long Beach, California, defeated Italian challenger  Antonio Puddu by TKO in 11 rounds. With this victory, he defended the WBC lightweight championship, which he conquered defeating his compatriot Erubey “Chango” Carmona.  The fight took place at the Sports Arena in Los Angeles, and the Referee was John Thomas.
