March 5th, 1954.- Paddy DeMarco, from New York, won the lightweight world title defeating compatriot, Jimmy Carter by unanimous decision at Madison Square Garden in New York. The Judges were Artie Aidala and Harold Barnes. The Referee was Ruby Goldstein.
