A day like today, Mexican Gilberto Roman defended his WBC title

September 4th, 1988.- Mexican Gilberto Roman defended the WBC super flyweight championship, after defeating Japan’s Kiyoshi Hatanaka, by UD in 12 rounds. The fight was at Rainbow Hall in Nagoya, Japan. The Referee was James Jen Kim. And the Judges were Rudy Ortega, Chuck Hassett and Arlen Bynum.
