Buddy McGirt became WBC welterweight champion, after defeating  Jamaican , Simon Brown, by UD in 12 rounds. The fight was at the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. The third man In the ring was Mills Lane  and the  Judges were Dalby Shirley, Jerry Roth and Ray Solís.
