In recent years, Uzbek boxers have begun to emerge, proving that they are a nation of warriors ready for battle.
Their fighting potential was clearly demonstrated in this world boxing championship, the WBC Boxing Grand Prix, where one of their representatives, Mujibillo Tursunov, has advanced to the semifinals, facing Ukrainian Danylo Lozan in the super lightweight division.
Mujibillo Tursunov was born on June 11, 1999, in Andijan, Uzbekistan. Since 2010, he has dedicated his life to boxing. He comes from a family of two girls and one boy. His father was the one who encouraged him along the path of boxing.
His purpose has always been clear: “To raise the flag of Uzbekistan and illuminate my homeland with my efforts in the ring.”
He made his professional debut on August 13, 2022, winning by unanimous decision. Since then, he has maintained an undefeated record, now at 8 wins and 0 losses, with two victories by knockout. At the amateur level, he also earned a gold medal at the 2024 Asian Championships and a silver at the 2021 Military World Championships.
However, for him, every medal and every victory is not a final point, but rather another step on a long path. “Every drop of sweat, every bruise, every morning run—it’s all part of the price I’m willing to pay. My journey continues, and I remain committed to achieving even greater goals: for my family, for the young people who will come after me, and for Uzbekistan, the land I hold in my heart.”
