
Miguel “Alacran” Berchelt tops the bill Saturday night in Reynosa fighting Venezuela’s Edixon Perez in a lightweight bout at the UAT Gym.
Miguel who is a former WBC super featherweight champion has built a record of 41-3, 36 KO. Edixon has a record of 30-13-1, 24 KO’s. They respectively have an 87.8 percent KO rate and an 80 percent KO ratio.
In an interview Miguel said he will do his utmost to win the WBC Reynosa belt. But is aware and respects his opponent’s experience and proven punching power. He says he is fully prepared and in great shape to fulfill his dreams via victory.
Miguel was WBC super featherweight champion for four years and notched seven successful defenses. He feels stronger one division higher, more powerful and it doesn’t take as much effort to comfortably make the weight.
The very skilled and accomplished Shakur Stevenson is WBC lightweight champion. Miguel while acknowledging Shakur is a great champion, would relish the opportunity to test his power punches on him.
Miguel says Shakur is an Olympic silver medalist and a pro champion in three divisions which deserves praise. And a great fight with William Zepeda. But accordingly, he would love to fight the talented southpaw champ.
