Amateur boxing celebrated a true sporting festival with the WBC Amateur Turksoy International Tournament, held on October 5, 6 and 7 at the Yunasabad Universal Sports Complex in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event brought together 40 young boxers aged 15 to 16, representing four Turkic-speaking countries: Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Kyrgyzstan. The competition featured seven weight categories \u2014female (-54 kg, -57 kg) and male (52, 56, 64, 75 and 91 kg)\u2014 and was divided into three stages: quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The opening ceremony was attended by high-ranking officials, including the Minister of Sports of Uzbekistan, the Secretary General of the TURKSOY Organization, and the presidents of the professional boxing federations of the participating countries. Representing the WBC Amateur Committee in the region was Oksana Semenishina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Outstanding Results<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Local boxers delivered an excellent performance, winning multiple gold medals. In the men\u2019s division, Uzbekistan captured titles in all weight categories, while Kazakhstan also achieved important victories. Among the standout athletes were Islam Orudjev (52 kg) and Saidkarim Dias (56 kg), who both claimed the WBC Amateur Turksoy Belt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the women\u2019s division, Sabrina Chakomanova and Bakhoroy Kushbokova dominated at 54 kg, while Salomatkhon Sardorova shined at 57 kg. Nurperi Makeshova from Kyrgyzstan completed the list of champions in this category.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More Than a Tournament<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On October 6, a special \u201cface to face\u201d ceremony for the finalists added a professional and exciting touch to the event. The finals and official closing ceremony took place on October 7. Champions received medals, certificates, and cash prizes, while the winners of each weight category were awarded the prestigious WBC Amateur Turksoy Belt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Looking Ahead<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the closing ceremony, it was officially announced that the next edition of the tournament will be hosted by Kyrgyzstan in 2026, consolidating this event as a key platform for the development of amateur boxing in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
