The winners of Mercosur 4 are now settled at the Jos\u00e9 Sulaim\u00e1n Chagn\u00f3n Gym in Chalco, State of Mexico\u2014 a high-performance center that will serve as the base for their training before making the big leap to the WBC Amateur World Championship, to be held in Tijuana from October 16 to 19.<\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Uruguayan national team representing the country on Mexican soil is made up of: Mat\u00edas Otero, Thiago dos Santos, Mat\u00edas Barone, Santiago Gonz\u00e1lez, Santiago C\u00e9spedes, and Lucas Dur\u00e9, under the technical direction of Germ\u00e1n Freire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text is-stacked-on-mobile\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/wbcboxing.com\/amateur\/esp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/WhatsApp-Image-2025-09-26-at-10.41.18-768x1024.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1411 size-full\"\/><\/figure><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p>This training camp at high altitude in Mexico aims to put them in the best possible physical and technical condition to compete on a stage that will bring together the very best of amateur boxing worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Behind this achievement lies a joint effort between local representatives of the World Boxing Council (WBC), promoter Sampson Lewkowicz, and the Uruguayan Commission of Amateur and Professional Boxing (CUBAP), who worked together to make this historic opportunity possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The experience will go beyond the ring: the Government of Mexico has confirmed a sports diplomacy event, strengthening ties between both nations through boxing.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>And while the team sharpens its skills in Mexico, Uruguay is already looking ahead: Mercosur 5 has been confirmed for October 11 at the Ali Gym in Montevideo, ensuring the continuity of a project that keeps growing stronger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p>One of the standout members of this campaign, Santiago Gonz\u00e1lez, was welcomed by the Departmental Intendant, Dr. Mario Silvera Araujo, who highlighted the support of the Government of Treinta y Tres for the young fighter, who will now have the chance to showcase his talent at a world championship where the most prestigious belt on the planet will be on the line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With determination, preparation, and institutional support, Uruguay is ready to prove that in amateur boxing it can stand toe-to-toe with the very best in the world.<\/p>\n<\/div><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/wbcboxing.com\/amateur\/esp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/WhatsApp-Image-2025-09-26-at-10.46.45-1024x1021.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1412 size-full\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-primary-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-primary-background-color has-background\"\/>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Uruguayan boxing continues to write new chapters of growth and fulfilled dreams, driven by CUBAP.
