BUENOS AIRES – As part of the Women’s Month celebrations, amateur boxing experienced a deeply moving day at the Argentine Boxing Federation (FAB). Prior to the start of a promotional boxing festival, a recognition ceremony was held to highlight the commitment and dedication of women within the sport.
The event was organized by Miriam Santos, head of amateur boxing at the FAB, and featured the institutional presence of the federation’s president, Dr. Luis Doffi. Representing the World Boxing Council (WBC) was International Secretary Marcos Arienti, reaffirming the strong bond between both organizations in their shared mission to develop the sport’s grassroots.

An atmosphere of respect and camaraderie prevailed from the outset with the playing of the Argentine and Mexican national anthems, a gesture that underscored the WBC’s international reach and the shared identity of the global boxing family.

Recognizing Emerging Talent
The centerpiece of the ceremony was the presentation of awards to a group of female boxers who represent both the present and the future of the discipline. Among the distinguished athletes were: Belinda Rosales, Milagros Aguirre, Karen Flamenco, Morena Perez Liva, Milagros Ramirez, and Camila Cosiansi.

This tribute not only celebrates their athletic achievements but also reinforces institutional support for the growth of women’s boxing across all categories. WBC Amateur remains committed to providing visibility and development tools to those who, through discipline and passion, keep the essence of amateur boxing alive.
