WBC Amateur strengthens community ties with successful event in Munich

On October 18, 2025, the ZIRKA Events Hall in Munich became the stage for a vibrant display of amateur boxing, organized under the auspices of the WBC Amateur. The event, held in collaboration with Mariposa Boxing Club, brought together local athletes, families, and supporters in a celebration of the values that define the WBC’s global amateur program: discipline, respect, and international solidarity.

With the stands full and the atmosphere electric, young boxers from the host club engaged in a series of spirited bouts that showcased both their technical preparation and emotional commitment. The event received the institutional support of the WBC Amateur, and WBC Amateur Committee representative Ricky Pow was present to award medals and commend the fighters for their heart and sportsmanship inside the ring.

This initiative is part of the WBC Amateur’s growing presence in Europe, where the organization continues to build bridges with grassroots boxing communities. By supporting events like this, the WBC seeks not only to recognize emerging talent but also to foster long-term relationships with local clubs that share a vision of boxing as a tool for social development and personal growth.

The collaboration with Mariposa Boxing Club marks a significant step in that direction. With its strong community ties and commitment to both amateur and professional development, the club has become a valuable partner in promoting the mission of the WBC Amateur on German soil. Discussions between the WBC and the club leadership are already exploring future joint projects, including regional tournaments and international amateur exchanges.

Beyond the action in the ring, the Munich event reflected the WBC Amateur’s commitment to creating platforms where young athletes can grow in safe, structured, and value-driven environments. From Uzbekistan to Northern Ireland, and now Munich, the WBC Amateur continues to extend its global footprint while remaining firmly grounded in the principles that make boxing a life-changing experience.
