WBC Amateur Champion Welcomed by President of Uruguay

The Latin American champion of WBC Amateur, Uruguayan boxer Victoria da Silva, was received by the President of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay, Luis Lacalle Pou, along with the Secretary of Sports, Sebastián Bauzá, and the Coordinator of the Special Programs Area, Alejandro Sagasti. This took place during the inauguration of the gym at the Center for Social Policy Reference “Aparicio Saravia.”

Da Silva was accompanied by her coach, Gabriel Belela, who guided her through her boxing career as an amateur. Da Silva is currently an undefeated professional boxer with two victories.

The event was part of President Luis Lacalle Pou’s agenda, who led the inauguration of the Center for Social Policy Reference Aparicio Saravia in the Casavalle neighborhood of Montevideo. The service hub is expected to serve around 100,000 people.

The president was also joined by Vice President Beatriz Argimón, Secretary and Deputy Secretary of the Presidency Rodrigo Ferrés and Mariana Cabrera, respectively, and the head of the Ministry of Social Development, Martín Lema, among other cabinet authorities.
