Green Belt Challenge is beginning this week in France for the first time

From next Friday, February 23rd, to next Sunday, France will be hosting the Green Belt Challenge, one of the main WBC Amateur tournaments worldwide.

“We are pleased and proud to organize the Green Belt Challenge in France. It is the first time the WBC has hosted an amateur tournament in French history, and it is fantastic for the boxers”, said Samuel De Cubber, who is in charge of this WBC Amateur tournament in the country.

“The top elite fighters are coming from all over France to compete during these three days of the tournament. With the help of the French Boxing Federation (FFB – Fédération Française de Boxe), we are going to have a beautiful event”, continued De Cubber.

Two WBC world champions are confirmed to be present at the event: Nordine Oubaali, former bantamweight WBC champ, and Hacine Cherifi, who was a middleweight WBC champ. France has had 11 WBC world champions throughout its boxing history, and two of them will be present at the Green Belt Challenge.

The organizers also invite everyone who wants to follow the tournament to watch the fights worldwide live at: https://www.youtube.com/@WBCFrance
