"I am very happy for this opportunity," stressed unbeaten Colombian Oscar "El Jaguar" Negrete as on December 2 he'll be fighting Mexico's Rey Vargas, trying to snatch the World Boxing Council super bantamweight championship from him, in in New York.

"I not only see It as one fulfilled dream. I see It like two dreams, having the chance to fight at Madison Square Garden, on December 2 and conquering the crown”

The current North American Boxing Association (NABF) champion, undefeated with a record of 17-0 and 7 knockouts, knows that he will have to work incredibly hard against a champion who is also undefeated and who posses a record of 30-0 with 22 knockouts.

"I know that Rey Vargas is a great fighter, but I've always wanted to fight against the best, if I'm going to fight for a world title, so it has to be with a great rival that is worth it and with whom I can be proud to fight," he reiterated.

The match between Vargas Roldan and Negrete Padilla will be the co-main event of the evening that marks the farewell as professional boxer of the Puerto Rican Miguel Cotto against American Saddam Ali.
