HERNÁNDEZ AND LÓPEZ- RISING SUN WBC WORLD TITLE DEFENCES
Mexican world champions Juan "Churritos" Hernández and Ganigan López have away from home defenses of their crowns on May 20 at the Ariake Coliseum in Tokyo, Japan.
"Churritos" was crowned World Boxing Council flyweight champion on March 4 after beating Thai Nawaphon Kaikanha by TKO. He's back in Asia, against Japan's Daigo Higa, who has an undefeated 12-0 record.All fights won by knockout.
Higa Represents a formidable challenge, but "Churritos" also has fist power of the first order, having won by knockout in 25 of his 34 wins, and just two defeats. He's already notched up 13 years as a professional and 16 wins in a row.
Ganigan is the WBC light flyweight champion and he's making the second defense of his belt against unbeaten Ken Shiro, of Japan, who has five knockouts in 9 bouts.
Ganigan (28-6, 17 KOs) won the crown on March 4, 2016 after defeating Japan's Kimura Kimura. He defended it against Filipino Jonathan Taconing on July 2 at Arena Coliseo in Mexico City .
