The World Boxing Council applauds  the sparing-sparring initiative of boxer "JuanMa" López and coach Albert "El Entrenadorcito" Rivera, scheduled for March 31st  at the Ruben Rodríguez Coliseum of Bayamón, Puerto Rico, delivering the  prevailing common sense message of box NOT brawl.

"Wear gloves, not pistols" is the name of the card,  in which  both will strive  to collect  money to be designated to a charitable fund, to which they will together agree, cooperate and designate.

This card comes to pass, as a result and consequence of lost tempers, followed by deep regret,  but now leading to  something decent and positive in the true spirt of reconciliation, generating friendship.  Last October "JuanMa" and Albert became embroiled in conflict at the  Coliseo Roberto Clemente, in Puerto Rico,   after  Juan Ma boxed a memorable match against  “Papito” Vazquez.

"JuanMa and I decided to offer a message to the youth about the mistake we made." coach Rivera commented, offering a sincere apology.

The WBC through its charity program "WBC Cares" and "Boxval" - a project, which has the blessing of His Holiness Pope Francisco, sincerely supports such noble and contrite actions, clearly  showing that boxing has people who a fundamentally kind hearted, willing to put their hands up to mistakes made, place differences aside and more importantly, try their utmost with the best of intentions, to right wrongs, setting a proper example to youth.
