The next Jeter Promotions boxing card on Saturday, May 11 at Club One Fitness in Millersville, MD will feature two WBC FECARBOX title bouts — one of them including the promoter himself.

WBC FECARBOX champion Tony “Mo Better” Jeter of Stevensville, MD will make the first defense of his middleweight title against Victor Hugo “Magnifico” Correa of Mexico City, Mexico in a 10-round main event. Jeter (15-3-1, 10 KO’s) had an outstanding 2012 that included an eight-round unanimous decision in a rematch over Jose Felix on February 25, capturing the FECARBOX title with a fifth-round TKO over Tyrel Brown on September 22 and winning a highly-touted bout by 10-round split decision over fellow Beltway fan favorite Jimmy Lange on October 27. Jeter was named the Beltway Boxing Boxer of the Year in 2012 and is now ranked #15 by the WBC.

Jeter faces a tough opponent in Correa (15-5, 10 KO’s) who scored a fourth-round TKO over Diego Rivera in his last outing on February 8 in Queretaro, MX.

The co-feature bout matches Phil Jackson Benson of Landover, MD and Maxell “The General” Taylor of Baltimore in a 10-round contest for the vacant WBC FECARBOX Super Middleweight title. Jackson-Benson (11-1, 10 KO’s) has been on a roll, winning eight straight since suffering his only loss back in June of 2009. Seven of those eight wins have come by knockout, including his last six opponents. Jackson-Benson stopped John Terry in the first round in his last outing on March 2 in Fort Washington, MD. Taylor (18-4-1, eight KO’s) is coming off a six-round unanimous decision victory over Nathan Bedwell on December 1 in Winchester, VA. Taylor is the older brother of junior welterweight Emmanuel Taylor who has won two straight nationally-televised bouts.
