After Regis Prograis' successfuly defensed his WBC interim lightweight championship at the Lakefront Arena in July, he emphasized his desire to boost boxing  in his native New Orleans and... he`s  making that come true.

Prograis will get to the ring versus  Terry Flanagan of England on October 27 in the quarterfinals of the World Boxing Super Series, again in Lakefront.

"I'm very excited to fight at home again," said Prograis, who now lives and trains outside of Houston. "The people of New Orleans have been my biggest supporters. This is not just for me, but for the city and the other fighters in Louisiana who will be on the card.  October 27 will be a very special night. "

Prograis (22-0, 19-0 KOs) is the main favorite at this stage of WBSS, which is also organizing bantamweight and cruiserweight tournaments, which will culminate in the "Muhammad Ali Cup" in 2019.

Flanagan (33-1, 13 KOs) is a former lightweight champion who lost a split decision to Maurice Hooker last June- the first loss of his career.

"Flanagan is tough and brave, he's coming to fight, I want to fight the best in the world and win this important tournament."
