Ex world champion Cristian Mijares (59-8-2 and 27 KOs) will have a tough farewell fight on June 16 in the heart of his beloved Gómez Palacio, Durango, against former world champion Wilfredo "Papito" Vazquez Jr (24-7-1 and 19 KOs).

The dust ups between Mexicans and Puerto Ricans form classic legends of Latin American boxing, with battles that have left their mark on the memory of the fans. This June 16th in  Durango, the Mexican "Diamante" will try to offer a great night, in what will most probably be his final bout.  A veritable and memorable swansong.

"It's a very important fight because we're at home, people were asking me when I would fight again here in Gómez Palacio and it was achieved, thanks to my promoters. Now we have to think only about winning and not leaving all those people disappointed.  He is a very strong rival but:  “Comarca lagunera” a fight that they will never forget."

Mijares arrives with an important strike of 10 wins in a row.  However, in front of him he will have a very dangerous rival who has been in with fighters like Juanma López; Jonathan Oquendo, Nonito "Filipino Flash" Donaire, and Jorge "Travieso" Arce. .
