World Boxing Council featherweight champion, Gary Russell Jr., will defend his crown against Joseph "joJo"  Diaz Jr., on May 19 in MGM National Harbor, Oxon Hill, Maryland, USA, on a card to  be broadcast live on Showtime.

Russell Jr., 29 (28-1, 17 KOs), from Capitol Heights, Maryland, is already training hard for this important commitment, not underestimating an accomplished and worthy opponent. A former Olympian in 2008, Gary comes from defeating Colombian Oscar Escandón (25-3, 17 KOs), who held the interim title.

And  "Hey Joe"  (26-0, 14 KOs), also a former Olympian from Downey, California, who's four years younger,  comes from knocking out veteran former Mexican world champion, Victor "Vikingo" Terrazas, in Indio, California.
