Out and about for the first time since he was shot in the back by car-jackers on January 26th in Mexico City, WBC Youth super featherweight champion Eduardo "Rocky" Hernandez insists that gunshot wound is challenging but NOT changing the goals he's been working to hard to achieve, for half of his life.

Pale, yet utterly determined, bravely smiling through discomfort, to put it mildly and using a metal walking stick, Rocky aged just twenty, made it to the weekly press conference of the World Boxing Council, deservedly receiving an ovation of admiration.

He says that, the two robbers who attacked him as he was leaving English language school, were both armed with pistols, and the bullet which lodged in his back was thirty eight caliber, fired from short range. He underwent a three hour operation.

Rocky has absolutely no words for the gunmen. But he has tremendous praise for Victor Flores, the Boss of the Railway Union, who rushed to the hospital to help and facilitate as much as possible.

Rocky who was with his Coach Isaac "Tortas" Bustos, by his side said the doctors have ordered at least one month of rest. Then stringent rehab and physio, which will determine when he can start his boxing training again. Nothing definite yet...

The current lack of that trading routine is one of the biggest current frustrations he's facing, with a rueful, perhaps wistful grin and bear it.
