The objective of Miguel Berchelt is not to get the rest of the belts, he only wants big names and to become the terror of the division ..
Mexican world champion Miguel Berchelt says he already has "the most beautiful belt of all " in his hands and he does not want any other. ALL he wants is to keep adding names to his record , 33-1, with 29 knockouts,  and what better if they  are Vasyl Lomachenko, Explosivo Machado or Japan's  Kenichi Ogawa.
"Do not misunderstand me. I want the best names, but I'm not interested in any of their titles. It is not that I despise them, but I already have the belt that I had always dreamed of, the most beautiful of all. Obviously I want to fight all champions, but not because of their belts, because to be the best fighter of all you have to beat the best. I could fight them without the titles at stake," said the fighter from Cancun, who last weekend defended the WBC super featherweight world crown for the second time.
"I brilliantly closed this fight knocking out Maxwell Awuku for the first time in his career.  I had a  great time, yet I am sorry because it did not last a little longer "
Alacran said that his interest is  having the belt that been worn by fighters like Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson, Julio Cesar Chavez, Juan Manuel Marquez, that´s why I am not focused on the other belts.
Satisfied by knocking out  Ghanaian Maxwell Awuku  In three rounds, Berchelt said that after a hard training camp, he'll rest and enjoy time with his family, which  he could not do during the holidays, but with the intention of returning  soon.
"I do not want to break  my rhythm.  I would love to fight two or three times more this year. I know that my mandatory challenger, Miguel Roman, has already been designated, which is a tough fight and I have to be  well prepared for that, ” Berchelt declared after learning Roman had defeated Colombian Aristides Perez simultaneously.
With the priority of returning  mid-year to face Roman, Berchelt recognizes that his duel would have to be before September, as he knows that the rematch between Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin will be in the spotlight.
"I'll be ready for July, to come back with a lot of power, because I am aware of who is Miguel Roman. It will be a tough fight, of great physical strength, but it does not matter.  I trust in  my  preparations , because it has given me very good results."
The duel against Mikey Román, a fighter with a record of 59-12 with 46 knockouts and two missed chances for a world title, will be the first mandatory since Miguel dethroned Francisco Vargas.
