At long last, the official weigh in, marking the eagerly awaited homecoming  to Cancun of WBC super featherweight champion, Miguel "Alacrán" Berchelt,  defending his cherished Green and Gold Belt against Ghanaian Maxwelll Awuku, at the Oasis Arena.

The champion, who`s determined to give his home turf fans the grandstand performance they deserve and yearn for commented: "Thanks to all those who done their part to allow me to be here in Cancun fighting in front of my very own people.  I thank my team and the people who`ve loyally followed my career."

For his part Maxwell remained factual, with a touch of bravado. He chimed in: "I very much appreciate the hospitality of the people of Cancun. I know I'm not well known but I'm sure will win the WBC belt."

Both fighters successfully weighed in.  Miguel "Alacrán" Berchelt tipped 130 pounds, while Maxwelll Awuku was just a smidgeon lighter at  129 lb.
