1900 .- Barbados´ Demon, Joe Walcott, who actually wasn’t born in Barbados but in Demerara, Guyana, defeated Joe Choinsky by TKO. The Referee of the bout was, Johnny White. The event took place in Broadway A.C. in New York.

All ended at minute 2 with 37 seconds of the mentioned round when Referee, Lou Filippo, stopped the actions. The judges were Terry Smith, Tamotsu Tomihara and Tony Castellano.

1937.- Sixto Escobar, born in Barceloneta, Puerto Rico, and first man of his country to win a boxing world title, successfully defended his bantamweight title defeating by American, Lou Salica by unanimous decision in a fifteen bout at the Escambron baseball park in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The third man in the ring was the immortal heavyweight king, Jack Dempsey.
