1993.- Frenchman born in the Congo, Anaclet Wamba, defeated his comptariot Akim Tafer in seven rounds. The fight took place at the Marcel Cerdan Palace in Levallois Perret, a suburb located in the North East of Paris. With this victory he successfully defended the WBC cruiserweight championship. The Referee was Rolando Barrovecchio. While the Judges were Larry O´Connell, Armand Krief and Raymond Bachelet


Wayne-BraithwaitegrecaA1966.- Puerto Rican Jose Torres retained the WBC light heavyweight championship after defeating Scotland's Chic Calderwood in just two rounds. Their bout was presented at the Hiram Bithorn Stadium in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The Referee was Teddy Martin. The proud Scot, bitterly disappointed following the defeat, announced his retirement.




1985- “The Professor” Azumah Nelson, from Ghana, defeated Britain's Pat Cowdell by TKO in the first round at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, West MidLands, England. With this victory he defended the WBC featherweight championship. The Referee was Octavio Meyran, who stopped the actions at minute 2 with 24 seconds, after advancing Pat was poleaxed by a mighty left hook. The Judges were Richard Steele, Harry Gibbs and Roy Ankarah.
