The Judges were Justo Vazquez Marcos, Gary Ritter and Kamen Petrov. Gomez had dominated the fight from the beginning, and when the end came, he also had a wide difference on the scorecards

1994.- The Monterrey Baseball Stadium in Nuevo Leon, Mexico, hosted a card starring Julio Cesar Chavez against former super featherweight and lightweight champion, Tony Lopez, from Sacramento, California. Chavez got the victory by TKO in the 10 round. Don King promoted the event. The Referee was Luis Carlos Guzman and the Judges were Harold Laurens, Daniel Van de Wiele and Nicolas Hidalgo.

The clash was at the Army Sports Stadium of Bangkok, Thailand. Chionoi was dropped three times.
