1978.- Panamanian idol Roberto “Hands of Stone” Duran, conquered the WBC lightweight championship after defeating Puerto Rican, Esteban de Jesus, by TKO in the 12th round. Duran defended the WBA crown and conquered the WBC one. It ended at minute 2 with 32 seconds. The Referee was Buddy Basilico and the Judges were Art Lurie, Isidro Rodríguez and Richard Steele.

BasiliogrecaA 1997.- The then undefeated, Oscar De la Hoya, defended his WBC super lightweight championship for the first time- a title he'd conquered by defeating Julio Cesar Chavez, by defeating Miguel Angel Gonzalez via UD. The match took place at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Referee was Mills Lane, while the Judges were John Keane, Bob Logist and Anek Hongtojngkam

2001.- Back then, undefeated Willie Jorrin, conquered the WBC super bantamweight championship, defeating Oscar Larios, after a rugged, bruising encounter. The fight took place at the Arco Arena in Sacramento and was promoted by Don Chragin. The California Athletic Comission named Judges: Ken Morita, Larry Rozadilla and Omar Mintun. The Referee was Chuck Hassett
